Fireworks!

“This article was originally published in our July 2007 issue and had caused quite a stir. I would like to post it here again to solicit your opinions.”
flag.JPG What has happened to America’s youth? Where did these early twenty-something Generation Y’ers get the notion that society owes them anything, if not everything? Has Nickelodeon and MTV taught them just to sit there with their mouths wide open, expecting to be fed? And, boy howdy, do they expect to be fed! Not just any food, mind you, but I’m talking Top Choice USDA Prime Sirloin Steak served with a side of Grand Marnier.

Now, I am being quite harsh and narrow minded here, blanketing an entire generation with my diatribe. So, let me be more specific with the group I am devoting my rant to this month: the uneducated or unemployed Internet Generation. With hundreds of colleges and universities, and an endless supply of employment opportunities, many of these so-called Millennials, still don’t go to college, or get a job! And the number one reason? Shear and utter laziness!

As you’ve probably noticed, our site has changed bit by bit in the last few months. Our ever increasing readership has allowed us to progress from a mere blog to a real motorcycle media outlet. While we still have a ways to go before being able to run with the “big boys,” we are happy to report that we are on the right track.

Here are some exciting news and happenings since the beginning of the year. We have begun shooting and production of our 30 minute show, so look out for that soon within the next two weeks. We are now backed by a number of strong sponsors, so if you are interested, please jump onboard quickly. Due to the amount of stuff we have received to review, we now have to charge a fee to do so. Never fear though, the reviews will be completely professional, and meet the strictest criteria implemented by the head honchos.

Welcome back everyone! Now that people are starting to return to work after the holidays, it is also time to ride again here in the City. As I mentioned last month, we are now completely digital! Please take a few minutes to check out the large database full of content with have uploaded during the holidays.

I also want to take this opportunity to welcome two new riders on to our staff. Justin, who was our intern over the Winter Break, has now come on board as a fulltime Staff Writer. And also Dan, who has been our Graphic Designer for the past six months, who will also write for us. Ride safe guys. So please be sure to follow their very different journeys through the world of motorcyling.

Naughty ElvesWhile others are winding down for the holidays, we here at IPM are busily preparing for the upcoming year. 2008 promises to be a fruitful and exciting year for all of us.

As some of you may have noticed already, we have been filling up the site with all sorts of videos and articles about bikes, gear, and events.

We have decided to stop printing paper magazines, as it has been a known fact that the internet has become the media outlet of the future. But never fear, we will still deliver the IPM Girl of the Month and Bike of the Month spreads.

Damn Bikers!

I hate bicyclists. Every morning on my ride to work, there is a group of damn human powered cycles weaving in and around me. With the way the traffic lights are designed downtown, there is no way to catch all green lights. So, every morning, I foolishly try to lose them by blasting away from the light only to have them catch up with me at the next red. To make matters worse, these people don’t obey the traffic signs! They plow through the reds and cut through perpendicular traffic.

I only recently discovered that bicycles were not allowed on sidewalks. I had always ridden on sidewalks as a kid to avoid the dangers of cycling beside automobiles. I mean, it makes sense right? Anything with a motor should be on the road and anything without should keep safe on the sidewalks. It makes perfect sense to me! (more…)
