Hot Fuzz…

The police. They are a necessary evil. Yes, there are a few officers that are genuinely helpful to anyone and everyone. But most that I’ve been unfortunate enough to deal with are unbelievably arrogant. I’ve been seeing a lot of cops in my neighborhood lately and it makes me wonder. My neighborhood is not a high crime neighborhood, so why are so many of them here? When I’m in a shady area, they are nowhere to be found! Now, I am in no way saying I don’t like the police or that I want to get rid of them. I appreciate everything that they do for us. But can’t they stop flooding my neighborhood with cop cars and giving me traffic tickets? Why don’t they flood the areas of high crime and save some lives?!?!

So recently, we were at MaxMoto to have the Hexacone exhaust installed onto the Ducati Hypermotard, and we saw that they had a former police motorcycle. They also had a white helmet and I just couldn’t resist pretending to be Five-Oh.

Check out my “transformation”

Daytona 675 Front end Swap

Alex

The stock Street Triple forks are not adjustable, and therefore it limits the options I have of fine tuning my little rocket. Since I had started picking parts off our Daytona 675 Track project already, I decided to take a bigger bite this time. I am going to swap out the entire front end. Muahahaha!

So the first thing I did was start taking off the stock Street Triple handlebar and controls:

MaxMoto, the official US distributor hooked us up with a full-system Remus Hexacone exhaust, as you saw from my previous post. Check out the installation process.

Thanks again Frank and Knut!

Watch Out for Stupid Cagers!

Drops

So my event schedule for meeting dumb drivers was at an all time high today. I decided to ride double today, threw my guy friend in the bitch seat, and headed to Bay Street in Emeryville. What’s great about parking there for motorcycles is that it’s free and a specific area is designated for motorcycles only. Of course, the designated area for bikes is only four spaces, but there was no one else parked when we arrived. Our errand took only about an hour or so.

When we came back to where the bike was parked, we saw that not only was our bike blocked by another motorcycle parked diagonally in two bike lanes (including ours), but there’s a freaking car parked in the motorcycle only area. The car had haphazardly parked in three and a half of the bike lanes causing the next motorcyclist to have nowhere to park except directly behind us. I’m angry at this point because it clearly says MOTORCYCLES with tiny marked lanes that could only fit bikes! Also if you park in designated car areas for less than 30 minutes it’s still free, so I didn’t understand why that stupid cager was parked in our spots! I proceeded to call security and they didn’t really care. So, I begin to call the tow company to remove the damn car, when the idiot comes back.

Gilles Tooling Rearsets

Alex

I took these off the Daytona Track Project (hey, no one’s racing it!) and installed them on the Street Triple today. Most parts on the two bikes are interchangable. Anyways, for those of you who are just joining us, this is a pair of Gilles Tooling adjustable rearsets in bronze. The footpegs are set and do not bend in like the stock ones do.
